Born in Uganda, raised in the UK, and based in Spain for the last 17 years, Chris Willan has a natural affinity with all people - from Rastas to Royalty, burger flippers to billionaires. As a result, he creates images of rare sympathy wherever he goes.

His work has been exhibited at Tate Modern, Museu d'Història de la Immigració de Catalunya, The Gallery Oldham and The National Theatre, and he is recipient of the World Responsible Travel Award. His 20 years of experience have seen him work across advertising, TV, film, NGO, editorial and corporate assignments, both alone and as part of creative teams, with some of the best-known photographers and agencies in the world, including Magnum.

He also works in moving image and is currently completing a worldwide shoot for a major travel company. A native English speaker, Chris runs workshops up to MA level in the UK and Europe. He is fluent in French and Spanish, retaining work bases in the UK and Spain.
