Johann Sebastian Hänel

Johann Sebastian Hänel is one of Germany's leading high-end advertising photographers and has worked in the industry in various countries around the globe. He is based in Berlin and since the 1990s has worked as a freelance photographer for advertising and editorial clients. Johann specialises in large group portraits, sport, architecture and big transportation (trucks, aircraft, etc.).

His portraiture work reveals a sensitive approach that gives emotional depth to his images. Johann has worked for advertising agencies including Jung von Matt, BBDO, DDB, Leo Burnett, McCann Erickson, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, and many others.

His clients includes Adidas, Audi, Coca-Cola, Continental, Daimler Mercedes-Benz, Harley Davidson, Nike, Oakley, Sony, Vodafone, Volvo, and many more.

His awards include 2011/10/09/08/07 Lürzer's Archive '200 Best AD Photographers Worldwide'; a 2009 ADC Silver for Adidas Football, TBWA 'Impossible Goalkeeper Petr Cech' for VKF/Sales Promotion; 2007 ADC Gold Stern Football WM Magazine; and a 2006 Lead Award for Stern Football WM Magazine.

Johann is represented in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by PAM-Mirjam Böhm.
