New York: Ellen McDermott

When one thinks of an arrangement of inanimate objects there isn’t much excitement unless those objects are imbued with life. Step in Ellen McDermott, a photographer, whose extensive work in the museum, auction house and gallery world has given her a step up on the study of objects and their relationship to light.

Together with partner Bridget Sciales they create a studied, fresh, and exciting look into an ancient form of art. These visual encounters take the viewer into the subject matter and create a connection that enhances and drives the digital experience for consumers.

Their work in still life has appeared in advertising campaigns, digital content, corporate assignments, books and private collections both nationally and internationally.

Clients include Ralph Lauren, S.R. Gambrel, Brooks Brothers, Toast, The Salting, Cottages and Gardens, Elle Décor, Dwell, Rue, The Magazine Antiques, Crackle Entertainment, Cooper-Hewitt The Smithsonian, Christies, and Sotheby’s, among others.
