The summer in Barcelona is once again incredible. Sunshine, beaches and heat for those who seek relaxation, wonderful light conditions for those who come to work.

In the last few weeks SetUp has been providing production service to Dorothea Craven for Kaufhof, to Robert Penkwitt for Wenz and to Patrick Schwalb for Sinn Leffers, - all three German catalogues with different outlooks, yet for each one we could provide with the right locations, being it modern architecture, rural landscapes or beaches, windy roads or mountain monasteries.

We are currently preparing a new Mini Cooper Campaign to be filmed on
locations all over Catalonia at the beginning of next month.

Following the tradition established over the years by "Montse Roura Photo production" of providing our clients not only with a professional but completely personalised and dedicated service, this month we have undertaken the production of the clothes brand "Elegance" at the request of "Schaber Advertising".

With makeup by Gilberto Yañez, styling by Jürgen Scheel and Jutta Schewengberg and photography by Guido Bertram and Jonathan Miller, this production featured Top Model "Laura Sanchez", as well as models like Marta Llompart, Aleka, Veronica Bueno, Nancy Eissadui and Mara Darmousli.

159 shootings in Barcelona in six months!
With the arrival of twice Oscar- awarded Pedro Almodóvar, Barcelona becomes once again the embassy of Spanish cinema.

If "crisis" was the word most frequently named at the beginning of the year in the Spanish cinema industry, Barcelona can proudly say: "not for me". While last year in July only 8 films (cinema and TV) were registered at Barcelona Plató Film Commission, in 2003 over 20 films have already been registered.

With an increase of a 17% in the total number of productions (159) by the end of June, we can say the industry is definitely moving, as well as the city that has already authorized 750 shooting permits through our office, 300 more than last year at this time.

One of the activities of Audio-visual Producer VOO is the production of Animation Short Films.

Recently VOO has won a quiz TV, "Curtissims de City TV", organized by City TV Channel, in the animation section, with the short film:" Oh.... How it hurts!". The prizes were awarded during the TV program "Vitamin N", directed and presented by Jordi González, the past 25th of July.

"The beach first aid kit" is another short film produced by VOO and it will take part in the Animac-Seoul, the first Spanish Animation Festival in Korea. This festival will include a wide selection of the best and most interesting animation films created in Spain during the past years.

The Association of Professional Photographers of Spain (AFP) invites you to the Lux awards 2003.

New this year: the Lux awards will expose the finalists' works of each category parallel to the award ceremony.

The exhibition will be celebrated in the Sala Tandem in Barcelona and in El Sol, Latin American Advertising Festival in San Sebastián.

Works can be registered until September 15th in the following categories: Advertising, Fashion, Still life, Portraiture, Industrial, Architectural and Interiors, Thematic Reportage and Social Reportage.

For this event, Clarins Paris relied on Parallele's top-models Pilar Ruiz and Veronica Evers, who worked as Haute Couture models during the 70's in Spain.

Euro-Mediterranean audio-visual productions Market, devoted exclusively to Documentaries.

Medimed is a "dedicated market", which focuses on the promotion of Euro-Mediterranean projects and productions of Documentaries. The selected projects are available for pitching sessions with international buyers, TV programming executives, distributors and investors, whereas the new productions are available to them in screening rooms.
In Medimed 2002, 30 projects and 80 documentaries from 40 countries were presented.
