Big Sky Productions has had another good and busy season. The company was proud to welcome back regular clients as well as a range of brand new faces. Production is made easy in Cape Town due to the beautiful light and exceptional locations. Big Sky has produced in some of the best locations the area has to offer, from pristine white beaches to busy city streets, lovely green meadows and polo fields to large-scale studio TVC shoots for which the company creates elaborate sets using world-class local and international crew and equipment. With jobs constantly coming in, Big Sky looks forward to a consistent and busy year ahead.
“As summer comes to an end in the Southern hemisphere, we would like to thank all our friends, new and old for all their support. Good times were had during a very successful season which included productions for Condé Nast Traveler USA, Vanity Fair USA, I-D Magazine, Jockey, the Collective, Superstar, Crusoe, Provinzial, Five Star, Kid, Swims, Stephanie Franzius, Accu Chek and Megamart.
We have many fond memories from the last few months which included tracking down the Izikhotane Boys in Soweto, joy riding in 4x4s through the dunes of Atlantis, wrapping with fine wine in the vineyards, getting the shots out at sea on a luxury yacht just before the rain came, hanging with the cheetahs in the African bushveld, BBQs next to the lake, Kayaking in an office 30 floors above the city, and let’s not mention the penguins… Thank you for the laughs, fun and excitement.”

Primarily focusing on food photography, Shawn Driman’s unique understanding of lighting and insistence on “getting it right first time” means clients receive images that require very little additional work. He enjoys long-standing relationships with a number of major convenience and fast food chains and their agencies in South Africa, as well as the large corporates who manufacture staple brands.
Shawn’s other commercial enterprise 'Living Landscapes' has taken him quite literally around the world. A quiet individual with astonishing presence, Shawn says, “when I can actually feel the energy of a place, it seems to infuse the photograph. There is another force, more than just me and my camera. I can feel it happening."

Award-winning Libby Edwards won a commendation at the 2013 Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Awards in London in April.
