Retouching Assistant at Selfridges

KNOW THE ROLE
Working alongside and developing your skills with our Retouching Manager, you’ll be preparing imagery for the Selfridges website. And with a site that’s updated as frequently as ours that means dealing with a large number of images every day. Cutting-out, cropping, resizing, cleaning up and colour correcting are all part of the challenge. And because much of the site is fashion-based, there’s a particular emphasis on skin retouching. The sheer number of images involved means you’ll also need to run a tight ship when it comes to working to our retouching briefs.
KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
It could be that you come to us straight from a visual arts degree. Or that you’re looking to move on from your current role. Either way, you’ll need a good knowledge of Photoshop and some practical experience under your belt – particularly involving colour correction and clipping paths. A genuine interest in fashion is important, as is a broad understanding of online retail. But perhaps even more so are a strong work ethic and a sharp eye for detail – both with regards to the retouching itself and following our style guidelines.
Since Harry Gordon Selfridge first opened the doors of Selfridges Oxford Street, London in 1909, Selfridges has been dedicated to surprising, amusing and amazing its customers with astounding moments of retail theatre.
