George Kavanagh - London [UK] advertising photographers

George Kavanagh's powerful seascape peppered with gravestones (shot by Alex Howe) recently advertised Ghosts by idiosyncratic film-maker Nick Broomfield with much poignancy - many people keenly moved by the horrific drowning of 23 illegal Chinese cockle-pickers at Morecombe Bay, UK in 2004.

Award-winning images of the longest-ever hoarding scaffold in Dubai is a fascinating, almost abstract, collection bursting with dynamic construction on the one hand; yet, on the other hand, George is commenting on the juxtaposition of advertising massive wealth and the exploitation of the worker.

Stepping into the surreal with Canon, George's stunning new campaign, through Tequila, harks back to Magritte, compelling us to explore a slightly dark and disconcerting world....

Ivo von Renner - Hamburg [Germany] car & transportation photographers

Ivo von Renner lives in Hamburg, Germany though he tells us that the world has become his 'extended home'.

He had hoped to become an actor, but went on to study art and graphic design and began shooting scenarios with people for magazines.

A few years later he was approached by an art director to shoot the Volkswagen Golf in the same manner as he had captured women for his personal series and, thus, people and cars became a big success.

From 1990, he began shooting in Italy, Austria and Switzerland and then the US, Czech Republic and Spain and now China.

Ivo has a way of always trying to see things from a different perspective. He is fascinated by people and the character they possess. He is an explorer by nature and thrives 'on the hunt', perceiving challenges as a reward not an obstacle. To say he has a hunger for life would be an understatement.

Saddington and Baynes - CGI & Post-Production - London [UK]

Saddington & Baynes is widely recognised as one of the world's leading print post-production studios. Known for automotive retouching, the firm was a pioneer of digital retouching in the 90s.

As one of the very first to realise the creative potential of CGI for print, it has been instrumental in developing the new workflow and introducing it to the industry. It combines creative flair, technical skill and top-class experience in automotive retouching, and has developed a unique methodology that takes CGI into the advertising mainstream for print.

When asked to describe what is different about their approach, S&B say, 'Photographic technique is at the core of what we do. We can create high-quality images from any supplied 3D data, or use 3D modelling to generate "products" - be they cars, planes, bottles or pack shots - and then seamlessly place them into any background, whether it's a CG-generated studio or photographic location.'

The company's motto is: 'We understand the technology...so you don't have to'.
