    Mead Norton

    Advertising photographers

Mead Norton is originally from the USA but has become a prominent photographer in New Zealand. An athlete and adventurer at heart, he received a Masters of Science in Photography from Brooks Institute at Santa Barbara, CA. No matter what kind of technical challenge he is given, he has the knowledge to capture the image in the most testing conditions.

Mead now works with a wide range of clients and agencies from around the world to create dynamic portraits, lifestyle and action images. He knows how to work well in a team environment, which comes in handy when spending a long day outside or going on an extended trip into the backcountry with a crew. And because he is a perfectionist, he always strives to deliver above and beyond what is expected by his clients.

Clients include Mt. Ruapehu Alpine Lifts, Tour of NZ, Ultra Trail World Tour, Maori All Blacks, QE Health, Adventure Racing World Series, Fineline Creative Agency, and Destination Rotorua among others. Mead can create a studio in any location from a mountain top to a boring corner of a shed.

Mead is also an official Getty Photographer.

"I grew up in an artistic house with a father who was an architect and a mother who was a portrait photographer, so you could say that I was destined to follow in their footsteps! I loved the whole idea of capturing the world around me and was always that kid who carried their camera everywhere.

When I was a teenager I got my first taste of working in a darkroom at school and spent most of my free time before, during, and after school rolling film, shooting photos, or printing images. I continued with my photography at university, working on the college’s newspaper before going on to get my Master’s of Science in Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California.

Since leaving school, not much has changed, I still lug a camera everywhere - 30 countries and counting, to the top of a Himalayan mountain, under the Ocean, and just about everywhere else you can think of! Through my photography I have been able to work on some amazing projects including shooting from the back of an America’s Cup yacht, hanging out of a helicopter shooting an active volcano, and meeting some of the world’s best athletes."

Clients include Destination Rotorua, Polynesian Spa, Boom Skateboarding, Vibram Five Fingers, Kori Kita, D’baron, Pearson Bikes and Jefferson Bikes.

    Mead Norton

    Sports photographers

Mead Norton is passionate about photography and loves the outdoors. In fact, that is why he choose New Zealand as his home. The country is truly one of the most scenic countries in the world and it fits right in with his style of photography.

Mead loves getting up close and personal when he is shooting and the more extreme the environment, the more he enjoys the shoot.

Lately, Mead has been working with a few New Zealand Olympic Athletes like Kane Radford, Huriana Manuel, and Jesse Sargent on some PR images for them as well as working with some high profile tourism companies including Maiti Maori Village, Destination Rotorua, and Redwoods Tree Walk.

Later this year, Mead will be heading over to Australia to photograph the XPD Adventure Race World Championships and spend some time travelling up and down the West Coast of the USA.
