The summer season in Cape Town is just around the corner and the 08 Media Productions team is busy preparing for the months ahead.

"The team at Cape Town Productions normally uses the winter months to relax, take stock of the season that was, and prepare for the season ahead. This was not to be in 2016, as our wonderful clients took advantage of a very mild winter and a weak Rand to produce throughout the off season.

We are in fact still in the middle of an exciting shoot with Markus Wendler, who is experiencing his first visit to Cape Town. Many thanks to Marc Trautmann, Yona Heckl and Tom Mennemann for trusting us with their projects. It was also a pleasure to work with Caspar Davies again for a great Ford project. Gavin is about to leave for Europe - let him know if you are keen to meet and he will make himself available."

Cape Town Productions continues to offer a world-class service as well as a hands-on-approach. The team remains passionate about production, from start to finish.

Production Pool Cape Town runs seasonally in the Southern Hemisphere, servicing the European advertising and fashion market with excellent production facilities, service and co-ordination.

Ila Nazar and Hanna Bjoerklund are so called 'swallows', living respectively between London, Stockholm and Cape Town. Both focus on bespoke film and photo production service, with the personal touch always being the key for a successful production.

Recent productions include Deichmann, EDITED, Goodyear and GQ.

Baker Kent is the new look of well-known production company 10-4 Africa, owned and run by producers Scott Curnow-Baker and Robert Kent. With the same attention to detail and passionate dedication to relationship building, the team is very excited to kick-start its new global venture.

Gavin Schneider Productions has  completed another successful season and continue to produce throughout the South African winter.

Kaap Film is a production service based in Cape Town. Its founders are originally from Amsterdam and really know how to move the money to the screen!

Hein van Tonder is a food photographer and stylist based in Cape Town. He is known for his ability to craft beautiful images by working with and manipulating the incredible and long hours of natural light available in Cape Town.

Hein is a 2015 and 2016 finalist in the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year awards, and a category runner up in the 2016 Njord Sustainable Food Photography Competitions.

Clients include Sunday Times Food Weekly, Nobu Cape Town, Taste Magazine, Food & Home Magazine and Pink Lady Apples South Africa. He has photographed numerous books, including 'La Creuzette - The Story of a House'.

Mauro Matalone is an Italian freelance photographer and videographer currently based in Cape Town. His passion for travelling has brought him to explore many countries around the world, across Europe, Asia and Southern Africa.

Mauro has developed a great eye for street photography, travel and documentaries, architecture and aerial photography. He is currently using drone technology for his work (licensed UAV pilot) and has improved his visual language in a fast and accurate creative way.

He is committed to travelling for international assignments and to being represented by international agencies.

Clients include Dogon Group Properties (SA), WaveBreak Media, Boomerang Filmproduktion (GER), Roundabout Film (SA), Studio89 (FR), Chiavari Municipality (IT) and Oh Mercy! (SA).

Cape Town-based Hannah Mentz is an award-winning lifestyle and portrait photographer. She is known for bringing out the best in her subjects, be they adults, children or dogs. Cape Town provides a spectacular backdrop for her to create beautiful lifestyle images.

She has recently shot campaigns for Sunweb and Ross & Brown. She previously worked in London for BBC, Slimfast, Servite Housing and several corporate clients. Her work has also been published in The Sunday Times (UK) featuring an ad for Lloyd's TSB and Time magazine. She also produces work for local and international NGOs including Comic Relief.

Just a 20-minute drive from central Cape Town, Studio 26 Locations is a dedicated location facility consisting of two components constructed exclusively for production use. It caters to both stills and cine productions of any size and description.

The Lake Houses have been extensively used for film and still productions. Custom-built to give Cape Town the one thing it did not have - a rustic timber, lake-side cabin complete with classic jetty and a set of shabby-chic huts - the location is ideal for any vintage theme, re-creating New Orleans, the Caribbean or the Old West. A vintage pick-up truck is amongst some of the props provided to complete the picture. Picturesque backgrounds, vehicle access, and the possibility of waterborne themes such as swimming and boating increase the many possibilities.

The Open Air Studio consists of an open roofed building structure, stairs, deck area, doorways, open windows, props such as columns, boxes chairs and plenty of neatly paved floor space. It can be filled with water, graffiti painted, decorated to look like Greece... at Studio26, anything is possible!
