In May, Goodgate shot two spots with Erste Liebe from Hamburg for T - Com and one spot with Czar from Belgium for Mobistar. All spots were shot in and around Barcelona.

One of the T - Com spots was shot 90% in-studio and involved a hydraulic bed that moved like a power boat jumping over the waves, with exploding walls, water & wind. NASA FX as always came up trumps and impressed us all.

First Service Factory is the name of a new international commercial production house based in Barcelona and managed by Claudia Gottwalt, formerly responsible for advertising at a car manufacturer.

The international launch spot of the Seat Altea is the latest work. Directed by the Guard Brothers and produced in Barcelona and Andalusia the production of the spot was a long 9-day shoot with Arndt Dallmann as CD (Agency Atletico International). It is the largest project since First Service Factory was founded in November last year.

Rabagast is proud to have signed veteran award-winning director Hans Petter Moland for exclusive commercial representation in Spain. Moland is back on the commercial circuit after his latest feature film "A Beautiful Country", starring Tim Roth and Nick Nolte, opened in the Berlin festival earlier this year.

The month of May brought jobs for cars (VW/Blinkk), shot in Barcelona, beer (Munkholm/Fantefilm) shot in Costa Brava and Barcelona, natural gas (Statoil/Moland Film Company) shot in Empordà and - a shoot involving 31,000 toilet paper rolls in Mallorca (Velvet/Webber).

Thanks to great clients, a fantastic crew, an outstanding cast - and the citizens of Palma de Mallorca who relieved us of all the loo-rolls after the shoot.

After working on national campaigns like Volkswagen, Vitorio & Lucchino, Mahou, Cruzcampo and Dodot, Nucleo opened its production services to the international market. Producers Carine Perrin De Larrocha and Amanda De Luis run the new international department.

After visiting London, Amsterdam, Paris and Germany, Nucleo is already representing photographers from around Europe. From Paris: the fashion photographers Jean-Bernard Thiele, Nicolas Neufcourt and car photographers Peer Brecht, Erik Chmil, Florian Walter, Steffan Jouhoff and Peter Lindemann.

Setup Productions provided good support and sunshine when needed to K+L Ruppert Fashion Catalogue, Doris Streich Fashion Catalogue, both shot by Sara Wilson on Mallorca (yes we had Models: Sisley-girl Hila Marin, Sofia Premier and Rory Marshall, among others).

While you are reading, Setup is receiving German Glamour Magazine for three editorials, working with models, photographer and H&M from Barcelona or Barcelona based Reps. We look forward to all parties involved doing their best and making this unique project a huge success.

For the new European campaign, Vodafone asked Sonda Productions to organise different shoots of real, live pictures. The photographer Florian Geiss had to take pictures in unusual places including a heated pool and a remote lake. We'll soon be publishing the final pictures.

The international catalogue of the new Mercedes CLS 500 has been organised by Sonda Productions in Spain.The newcomer photographer from Germany, Emir Haveric, was chosen to take the pictures, and a new Catalogue Conception was created by the Advertising Company Springer & Jacoby Hamburg.

Showcase International opened its doors again this year, and invited us to show the work of our photographers to the European market along with 24 other agents chosen from all over Europe.

The prestigious New York photography magazine, Photo District News, have awarded Conrad Piepenburg for the BMW M3 Catalogue images.

The Contidrom was the test racetrack chosen to shoot the Renault Laguna, Scenic and Megane by Conrad Piepenburg for Spanish agency Tiempo BBDO.

Dimitri Daniloff shot the new Airwick campaign for Euro RSCG Barcelona.
Alfonso VQ shot a print ad for Angel Schlesser perfume through Dayax agency, and was chosen to shoot next season’s Princesa Lingerie catalogue.

In terms of cinema, Barcelona has been more international this month than ever. The Cannes Film Festival opened its 57th edition with Almodovar's latest film "Bad Education" (partly shot in Barcelona). At the same time, the Barcelona Plató Film Commission took part in the MIF film market. We’re pleased to say that MIF’s screening programme and catalogue included a long list of films shot in Barcelona by local production companies. In 2003, the Barcelona Plató Film Commission dealt with a total of 26 feature films, all of them shot totally or partially in our city and most of them currently being screened and/or at the Cannes film festival this year.

Robert Penkwitt just finished a shoot in Barcelona for the "Neue Mode
Magazine" Germany.

He shot a nostalgic erotic story in an old cabaret with Flavia (View), Framm for hair & make up (Olivia) and Nuria for Styling.
Lighting was provided by Spot Barcelona. Montse Roura Productions was of great help.

Besides this, he is busy preparing several shoots for "BCN [inside]"," style in progress" and a shoot in Sardinia in June.

Miguel Navarro: shot the Armand Basi shoes for press release, and a new campaign for Pans & Company including billboards for Madrid and in-store posters.
Daniel Riera: shot public-editorial for Vogue Niños. He was asked to shoot the second part of Lladro worldwide campaign and did a 4-day shoot for DKV insurance company. He shot the campaign for Visualis Optica and did great editorial for B-Guided, special Martin Margiela.
Daniel also did the new summer campaign for Nenuco Sun Protection.
Igor Borisov: shot the Burberry Kids campaign again and went to the Canary Islands to shoot 2 editorials for Vogue Niños.
Pep Avila: did a 4-day shoot for Olimpo catalogue, shot the new catalogue and campaign for Intima Cherry 2004/2005, and a special summer fashion editorial for La Vanguardia magazine.

Gabo was honoured to shoot the "50 Years Brigitte cover" for the Jubilee issue: 3 generations of women in B/W silver print. AD was Markus Thommen.

She also did a B/W fashion story with newcomers like top model Louise Kasprik.

The Beauty was shot in South Africa for the new "Stihl Calendar", which will be out in 2005.

Neo2’s team was at StudioUno shooting an advertisement for Adidas by Alfonso Vidal-Quadras, with Lewis as make-up artist.

Dasha's mesmerising beauty was superbly captured wearing Victorio & Lucchino in the latest issue of Sposabella magazine, by Sofia Roca.

Veronika Kovarikova was shot by Simon Atlee on her beach walk for British Marie Claire.

And from our Children Division, Ferrater shot Massimo Dutti with our handsome little ones, Alex Casanovas and David Tous, while Berta Ros is in the latest Vogue/Niños, by Alicia Aguilera.

Macarena, one of the most promising Spanish models who has been growing from strength to strength, was chosen due to the work of the well-known photographer Victor Moscardo, to commemorate Dali's centenary by way of fashion and design.

The shoot took place in the mystical Dalí museum in Figueres and was published in the Periodico newspaper. Fashion and art combined once again with spectacular results.

Daniel Rull was the hair and make-up artist for some beauty shots with photographer Jens Grundmann, featuring top model Vicky Ander.

The latest international campaign "Hair Days, Revlon Professional" took place in Friedel Scholten Studio where Daniel Rull did also the make-up.

Daniel Rull has also been doing the latest Opel commercial with Voodoo productions; the Peter Hahn German catalogue; and editorials including GQ, Sweet, Woman and Telva among others.

Stereorent was once again the provider of audiovisual equipment for the Formula One racing days at the Circuit de Catalunya-Montmeló, which took place from May 7th until May 9th.

They installed 11 giant outdoor LED screens, one of them rotating, some of them up to 80m² in size, sited on strategic bends, so the audience could see live the most spectacular images of the races.

Mecanogrip is back from "Sahara".

Three months ago, the Barcelona-based company Mecanogrip, that offers Grip services and rentals, drove with their Grip Truck Unit to Morocco to work on the American-Spanish co-production "Sahara".

Medimed is a unique euro-mediterranean audio-visual market that improves the promotion and development of new European and Mediterranean independent productions - both documentary and fiction. Its aim is to be a professional and creative exchange between Mediterranean and European producers and buyers. Due to the satisfactory results of previous editions, this year we propose again both projects and ready made products to be presented to a selected group of television networks, key-buyers and financiers alike. The 5th edition of Medimed will take place in Sitges, October 8-9 &10 2004. Medimed is exclusively open to registered professionals.

Sant Pau Apartment
This recently renovated Attic apartment is just 10-minutes walk from the very centre of Barcelona and has been beautifully decorated with wooden floors and very modern furnishings. It has a wonderful sun-terrace with amazing views of the city, a fresh outdoor shower and garden furniture.
On the 9th floor with an elevator, this lovely attic has AC and three bedrooms: One room with a double bed and two rooms with a single bed each. The living room has TV and DVD Player, a comfortable modern sofa bed, and a large dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator and microwave and a lot of cooking tools. The apartment also has a washing machine.
