His recent move to the Horn of Africa has seen him using his honest and engaging spirit to start multiple personal projects about the people around him as well as partnering with NGOs to tell their stories in a dignified manner.

    Travel throughout the world has taught him how to interact with all kinds of people. Curiosity, compassion, and a sense of humor are some of the driving forces behind his work. Experiences ranging from working in a traditional wet dark room to collaborating with the best in the industry have helped to hone his skills and grow a deep appreciation for the craft.

    Brian Carlson is a photographer and film-maker specialising in portraiture, travel, commercial and advertising. Working in a traditional wet darkroom early in his career gave him a deep appreciate for the craft. His work is honest, engaging and humorous, often times relying on real people in everyday environments.

    Brian has done work with a myriad of companies and organizations, from small non-profits to large Fortune 500 companies. His most recent shoot found him capturing two image libraries for the third largest health insurance company in the United States.

    His film work has gone viral and been featured in multiple film festivals. He is currently working on a personal project, shot on medium format film, focusing on street vendors in Ethiopia.

    Brian splits his time between East Africa and the United States.
