Born in Kastoria, Greece, Thanassis Krikis started his career as a fashion designer in New York. He studied fashion design and illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York. He is also a graduate of St. Martins College of Art and Design in fashion and textiles.

Thanassis later returned to Greece and worked as a fashion editor for several magazines. Since 2005, he has worked as a photographer based in London and Athens, contributing to major international and Greek publications.
