''Every so often Hoops gets asked to produce somewhere else in the world, this season was no exception with two adventures up North with our good friends at Go Outdoors and photographer Justin Badenhorst. In July we travelled to Iceland with its black volcanic beaches, impossibly green vegetation and out of this world rock formations carved by centuries of ice flow. 

Keeping the epic theme we headed to Switzerland in September, shooting skiwear on the spectacular Matterhon Glacier in Zermatt, postcard picturesque perfect!

We were tourists in our own backyard with Tourlane, shooting on top of Table Mountain, The V&A Waterfront and at various wine farms, followed by a road trip through Knysna to shoot the beautiful Garden Route and all its offerings.

Steel Productions Cape Town PHOTO & FILM PRODUCTION

Steel Productions has 20 years of production experience producing stills and motion projects in Cape Town as well as the rest of Africa and beyond. • For Accessorisze, Steel joined forces with their friends at Fuse Prod to shoot campaign and still life in a record turnaround time with local photographers Nadia von Scotti and Frances Marais.
• For H&M Home Steel visited an all-time favourite home location with photographer Erik Lefvander and once again the creative team worked their magic to create the spaces we all dream of.

Alexa is a fashion, travel and lifestyle photographer.

When not shooting the latest campaign, she can be found in some far off corner of the globe, taking travel pictures, having fun, or both.

She has recently shot global campaigns for Dove, Cetaphil, Tryanno and the luxury Swiss brand, Beldona for whom she also directed ten videos (all campaigns out soon.)

She captures the moments she does quickly and with minimal fuss, and hopes that her love and passion for photography shows in the work. She is about to embark on her first exhibition at Gallery F Cape Town in March. Other joys are animals, green things, interiors and good deeds.

"My location work is counterbalanced by technical studio photography, like pack shots and liquid in motion photography which are very challenging but satisfying experiments.

Advertising work is intense and very demanding but short-lived especially these days, for social media productions. As a creative person, I’ve had to find a way to express myself on a longer-term and have longer-lasting projects. That is how I found myself an author (photographically) of around 30 publications on different subjects (cookbooks, colonial architecture, Winelands etc..).

I am sometimes asked if I intend to retire and my answer is: retire from what? I am living my passion and it has been a fantastic journey so far. Why end it?"

Carla is a still life photographer focusing on food, beverage, product, interiors and advertising.  She is equally at home, working from her studio in the beautiful Robertson Wine Valley, South Africa or on location anywhere in the world.

Carla loves to create movement in an image, whether it be liquid splashes, billowing smoke or objects flying through the air, and she aims to bring life to each of her still life images. She is a skillful retoucher and is able to take an image successfully through the stages of conceptualisation to completion.
