Born in Uganda, raised in the UK and based in Spain for the last 17 years, Chris Willan has a natural affinity with all people - from Rastas to Royalty, burger flippers to billionaires. He creates images of rare sympathy wherever he goes, and in recent years that eye for the narrative within has seen him solo exhibit at Tate Modern, Museu d'Història de la Immigració de Catalunya, The Gallery Oldham, and The National Theatre - and win the World Responsible Travel Award.

Chris tells the stories of places and people through crisp and authentic images that hum with warmth, humanity and humour. His 20 years of experience have seen him work across advertising, TV, film, NGO, editorial and corporate assignments, both alone and as part of creative teams, with some of the best-known photographers and agencies in the world, including Magnum. 2014 saw him move into moving image and he is currently completing a worldwide shoot for a major travel company.

A native English speaker, Christopher runs photographic workshops up to MA level in the UK and Europe. He is fluent in French and Spanish, retaining work bases in the UK and Spain.

Story (formerly The Lift) has been at the forefront of the production industry for nearly 14 years.

The Professional Photographer's Association of Spain created the LUX Professional Photography Awards in 1993 - the first country-wide professional photography award with the objective of recognising and promoting the best photographers in Spain.

Every year entries are received across Advertising, Fashion, Still Life and Food, Industrial, Architecture and Interior Design, Portrait, Reportage, Landscape and Nature, Personal Project, Social Events and Juniors.

The Lux Awards, considered 'the Oscars' of professional photography, are the most prestigious professional photography awards in Spain and serve as a reference and meeting point for everyone in the business, The awards ceremony is one of the best networking events in the industry, as well as an excellent platform for photographers to showcase their talent.

This year is the 24th edition and as every year photographers have participated with their best work. The call for entries was closed on 7th October. Judging was held in Madrid and Barcelona on 19th and 21st October, and the awards ceremony itself will be held in Barcelona on 24th November.

Advertising photographer Joan Roig and food and prop stylist Neus Portell founded Roig & Portell in Barcelona in 1986. The studio is specialised in food, product and packaging photography and offers creative, high quality images to the best national and international clients.

Frank Díaz Terés was born in Barcelona in 1971. At three years old he began working as an advertising model - everybody in Spain will recognise this red-haired, freckled boy from ads such as Marbú Dorada, Pez Candies, Prenatal and Tente.

At age nine he was selected as a member of the band 'Parchís', one of the first Spanish kids pop groups to reach international acclaim, before going on to form his own band and acting in several musicals, including 'Hair'. Ever restless, he eventually decided to cross over to the other side of the camera.

Working for six years as a freelancer for advertising production companies, in 2010 Frank founded The Loft Studio, a consolidated photography studio in Barcelona. Convinced that every human being has something to offer the camera, his passion for images began to take shape.

Self-taught, Frank remains determined to continue learning from a world that he has always lived from multiple angles and that, as he says, makes him feel extremely satisfied.
