Barry Makariou
London
It’s not possible, they said!
Barry was approached by Bulletproof as they wanted Milka to be seen like never before larger than life, immersing the viewer into the wonderful ingredients of each variation activating a sensory experience leaving the viewer in no doubt ‘I want it now‘ Each chocolate had something unique we wanted to show these imperfections that would add to the character of each flavour.
As well as dedicated stills campaign, Barry also filmed the chocolate. The brief was to create a ‘reveal' taking the viewer on a journey heroing a piece of chocolate while slowly pulling back the famous lilac wrapper. He perfected the move using motion control and practical effect for the wrapper.
Virtual Production is gaining momentum and Barry has collaborated with G6virtualproduction to showcase this latest LED wall and motion control solution. Being able to bring any location to the studio will prove invaluable for many productions.
For latest projects and behind the scenes follow Barry on Instagram.
Latest work include Diet Coke, Twinnings Tea, Gong Cha bubble tea, Milka and Bel Vita. Barry is represented by Agent-at-Large.

Julia Bostock
London
Julia has been shooting kids, fashion and portraits for many brands and leading independent magazines in the UK and abroad.
She has won awards, including the Julia Margaret Cameron Award - first prize for children's photography for ‘Grumpy Girl’ which was also exhibited at Photo London. This particular photo is part of an ongoing project documenting Scottish crafts and traditions, soon to be featured in an upcoming book. Additionally, it will be showcased in a joint exhibition scheduled to take place in Barcelona in December 2024, as part of the prize.
In 2024, she has exhibited in Arles and London. This year she is keen to get involved in some socially responsible projects, as she believes photography with impact can make a difference. Constantly inspired by what she sees around her, she is always thinking of stories to capture; she is eager to convey the emotions and moods of subjects and situations through her imagery.
Alongside her commercial work, she is always documenting real life. She notices the things around her, close to home, and abroad, and as a result she has touched on many delicate issues.

Phil Babb
London
"I started this project with a pile of shoes from a vintage shop, picking out all the yellow and blue pairs, and photographed them hanging from their laces. I donated the image to the Ukraine Charity, who used it in an article highlighting the plight of refugees and internally displaced persons.
In conversation with the charity, we had the idea to create a series of images to portray Ukraine refugee children in a positive light rather than a forlorn one. These are a small selection of many images. I have donated all the images to the Ukraine Charity, the children, and their families, and I have met some of the most fantastic and enthusiastic children and grown-ups.
My thanks to

Nigel Riches
London
Lifestyle photographers and filmmakers are a very common commodity these days, as creatives understand the value of connecting with customers through real and spontaneous imagery. However, there are very few who are expert exponents of this art and fewer who have helped it to evolve.
Nigel and his team have a way of working with people, both old and young, to deliver amazing lifestyle imagery that is believable and captivating, drawing the viewer into a world they wish to inhabit. Shooting pharmaceuticals, outdoor clothing, sports, electronics, underwater, and drinks, their unique style is highly regarded by many advertising agencies.
Understanding the need to produce large numbers of assets for clients, his team has a working relationship delivering film and stills together, utilising valuable time efficiently. Their ability to make everyone feel at ease on set, with no hierarchy, allows talent to be themselves and to deliver work that feels un-faked and engaging. "This is the real ability to create great lifestyle," he explains: "we are just conductors; the talent creates the music."
