WE-SHOOT-IT
Car & transportation photographers
The VW Amarok is a real all-rounder of the Volkswagen Group and as such, just the right object for the new personal spread by WE! Shoot It duo Thomas von Salomon and Michael Compensis.
With the 'Country' special model, the two embarked on a virtual ride through rough terrain. But while the car was staged using CGI in collaboration with NPIXO, it did indeed get quite rough for the two photographers. During the backplate shoot using their own sphere-camera in Tenerife and in the Bavarian and Austrian Alps, they climbed up volcanoes, drove through jungle, and stood in icy-cold mountain stream water. Using a drone, they overflew alpine passes supported by Max von Eicken. The result is a personal spread which could not be any more varied.
For their on-going personal project 'Falling Waters', Thomas and Michael also used a drone - but in a very different way. Instead of hanging a camera on the drone, they installed a very strong light source and with a static mounted camera created some very artificial light paintings in nature.

Kai Schwabe. Photography
Food & drink photographers
"Taste can be seen! For more than 20 years as a food photographer, I have been playing with senses and have created delicious photographs for prominent exponents of the food and advertising industries. This includes recipe photography and recipe development, food photography, drinks photographs, food films and packaging and other promotional materials.
Together with my well-rehearsed team of food stylists and other professionals, I combine sophisticated craft with artistic aesthetics and the latest trends.
A 470m² large daylight studio in Bremen offers ample opportunities for this. Here, we can take photos with up to 100 megapixels and, thanks to our comprehensive artificial and film lighting equipment, can situate every delicacy in the proper light - including high-resolution effects and pleasurable slow-motion shots.
The spacious loft studio also offers room for a generously equipped show kitchen. This is where cooking professionals find everything their hearts and their food desires, in addition to extensive cooling and deep-freeze logistics to store ample amounts of food and keep it fresh. Props of more than 50,000 pieces of cutlery, tableware and glasses perfectly set the scene for food and drink."
