victor fraile
Hong Kong
In February 2014, Victor Fraile was approached by Dongfeng Race Team to shoot photo and video coverage of its preparations for the 2014/15 Volvo Ocean Race. He started with the team's VO65 boat build and crew arrival in Hong Kong, and then followed the team down to port in Sanya on Hainan Island, just off the South Coast of China. Having covered many global sailing events, this was another great opportunity for Victor to get out on the high seas and produce some great content for the newly formed outfit.
The creative brief for the project included air and water, and several other locations and situations for the shoot. Victor shot aerial stills from a helicopter over the wider waters of the South China Sea, and then followed the crew over to Sanya.
At the end of the project Victor delivered an exciting range of new imagery for the Dongfeng Race Team to use across multiple platforms to promote the team's involvement in the 2014/15 Volvo Ocean Race. The team have also used some of the imagery to decorate their pavilions at the Beijing Auto Show.
