Hugo B. Lefort
Montreal
"For me, photography is the meeting of two things.
It is the encounter between people - with all their stories and their humanity - and light. The main challenge is to harmonise the two to leave room for the story I want to tell through the photo.
Whether through a simple portrait or a complex staging, the story, for me, is always the most important.
And it is created as a team by adding the experience, talent and passion of each."

Bonnie Schiffman
Los Angeles
"The making of a portrait is a visual dance; non.threatening, no judgment, simply a trust that something will emerge.
As I look through the lens, it's just a feeling from my heart, to my brain, to my right thumb. The shutter button is pressed; that moment has passed forever, but inside my camera, the image of that moment is now preserved. I can't wait to see it, because the photograph is evidence that something magical happened.
The art of photography is minimal, decisive, a wonder, and always a gift." Bonnie Schiffman.
