Nick van Renen began his career as an art director, working on big brands at top Johannesburg agencies for several years before moving into photography.
A background in art direction carries through in his images, which have a distinctly crafted, illustrative style that he achieves through innovative photographic and post-production techniques. His array of subject matter is broad, with a particular focus on people, cars, landscapes and conceptual imagery, influenced by his advertising background.
Nick has photographed for brands including Johnnie Walker, Renault, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Isuzu, South African Tourism, Vodacom, Cell C, MTN, Sanlam, Kulula, FNB and ABSA.
