Nate Hassler Los Angeles

Spring and summer brought Nate Hassler lots of excitement behind the lens. Nate and his crew spent a week in the California and Nevada deserts shooting personal work with the Lexus RC F sports coupe, in the form of both video and stills. This project was a continuation of several previous works involving the Lexus RC F road car and the RC F GT3 IMSA race car.

On the subject of race cars, Nate was treated to an amazing day at the track with Mazda and Road & Track Magazine, spending time up close with the rotary-powered heroes of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Talk about childhood dreams coming true!

Summer season also saw the release of a story Nate shot last year in Stuttgart for 000 Magazine, featuring the Porsche 911 Clubsport prototype vehicle. This funky 911 paved the way for a number of similar production cars, and is blessed with (arguably) the most iconic automotive silhouette of all time.

Sean Klingelhoefer Photography New York - Los Angeles

In an effort to showcase the development of his craft, Sean Klingelhoefer’s most recent personal projects bridge the gap between his advertising work and his daily fine art photos. In both stories a wide variety of cameras were utilised to emphasise his love of film photography and the power of using several formats at once.

The first project is a photo-collage series shot in upstate New York featuring the timeless design of the Citroen SM. The second project captures vintage Mercedes in-situ as they move along the gorgeous streets of Paris. More from both series can be found on the artist’s website.

Brought on to capture the return of the legendary French sports car, the Alpine A110, Sean travelled to Dieppe, France to shoot the cars in the very same factory where skilled workers hand-build them.

Finally, and most recently, Sean found himself in Idaho on 21st August to document the total eclipse of the sun to promote Mitsubishi’s all-new Eclipse Cross crossover SUV.

Tyler Gourley Los Angeles

"Photography — that’s how I want to talk", Tyler Gourley confesses. It’s how he communicates.

While growing up, he would fantasize with his father about buying classic cars and fixing them up. Enthralled with drawing cars and all their interesting lines and curves, Gourley originally started taking photographs only as drawing resources. But he discovered that he reveled in finding the key attributes of a subject and featuring them in new and expressive ways, so he put down the pencil and picked up a camera.

His commercial photography career has realised that early love of cars through large, complex shoots for BMW, Volvo, Jeep, Subaru, Lexus and Acura.

"As objects, cars are very beautiful", he says. "What makes a good car photographer is finding the key attributes and the lines... and what really makes that car shine".

WE-SHOOT-IT Frankfurt - Munich

The last days of summer are near so a wintery refreshment is just right. WE! Shoot creative duo Michael Compensis and Thomas von Salomon didn't leave anything out in their wintry transport spread.

The new bright red Jaguar F-Pace plows through the wintery snow-capped Alps. The backplates were already created in spring in southern Bavaria and Austria, some with a drone, while the spheres were also delivered by the duo thanks to a 360° sphere camera. Despite the -20° temperatures and the frozen diesel, the multi-day backplate shoot at 2,750m altitude went smoothly.

For the third vehicle from the Hyundai I30 family, the pair - who had already shot the Waggon and Hatchback - also filmed the trailer in addition to the studio stills: a job quite welcomed by the two automotive pros as being true to their slogan "anything visual".

A few days later, the team flew to Berlin to stage the brand new KIA Stinger together with Paul van Dyk for Innocean Worldwide. For a couple of days the creative duo and the star DJ went through the streets of the German capital with the new Coupé - a perfect match!
