The 7 Seas Argentina team is getting ready for the austral winter. For Patagonia, the company teamed up with Klaus, a German-French breed who settled many years ago with his family in Bariloche and runs a motorbike tour business. He is the perfect match for everything snow and wilderness related and he knows the area like the palm of his hand. His motorbike tours often start on the Argentine side of Patagonia, cruising south to Tierra de Fuego and hitting the Chilean side of Patagonia on their way back. What a Mounty is for Canada, Klaus is for Patagonia and 7 Seas.
The 7 Seas Argentina summer was full of fashion productions for clients including German Catalogue SheeGo (Schwab - Otto) and editorials for Grazia. The pictures featured in this Showcase reveal a typical Argentine Estancia, the counterpart to the Mexican Hacienda and cradle of the Gaucho and Polo myths.

Budget Productions
Budget Productions is a young venture started by a group of old producers. By maintaining the “body and soul” of years of experience across many countries, Connie Schmidt-Reimer and Christian Bengsch merged to create Budget Productions for France and Spain.
Budget tailors its services to magazines, catalogues and photographers working on a tight budget who need real, close-at-hand locations. The idea is to open sunny streets and beaches to the small briefcase, creating the equivalent of prêt-à-porter locations. Budget strips a fashion or editorial shoot down to its essential needs, with clients renouncing only the higher-end comforts of the production process.
The Budget concept benefits from a range of initiatives launched by Mediterranean towns and cities to promote audiovisual projects by waiving the usual location fees. In terms of service everything else remains the same, with Budget providing 12 years of experience in photo production, an unparalleled level of service for each and every project, and an extensive database of locations on the Costa del Sol and French Riviera.

Côte d´Azur - Buenos Aires – Havana: 7 Seas Productions
7 Seas Productions shines a special spotlight on the South of France. What used to be the cradle for photo productions amongst European and US professionals in the 90s has fallen into oblivion over recent years, mainly due to the lack of modern locations and an overall belief of having seen it all before.
The good news today is that there are numerous modern locations and still many surprises to uncover. Europe’s sunniest and most versatile region is back on the production map. New buildings have been completed and the old refurbished, with many modern office spaces and private houses rebuilt in the meantime. Style is back, and the sun and the blue sea remain.
7 Seas has production offices in Cuba and Argentina and with its expert knowledge highly recommends rediscovering the South of France. Recent productions include SCHWAB, Peugeot, Rolf Benz, Boden, C&A, Petra and Beluga Shipping.

7 Seas Productions
7 Seas Productions recently carried out two shoots for Volkswagen. The German car manufacturer's top secret new pick-up model, the Amarok, was shot in Argentina and will be revealed in February at the Salon de l'Automobile de Geneve. Lavish set building was required to meet the needs of German car photographer Ernesto Martens.
7 Seas explored the Southern Atlantic, thoroughly scouting the region in and around Mar del Plata - the Argentine Hamptons. Windy streets, spectacular coastal roads and traditional wooden houses perfect for fashion shoots can be found in abundance. Foreigners are rarely seen, as whenever beaches and dunes are required they tend to head for Uruguayan hotspot Punta del Este, also covered by 7 Seas with many location pictures available on the website.

7 Seas Productions
7 Seas Productions recently launched a new service, along with a new website: 7 Seas Locations. The service is designed especially for creatives from overseas who are unable to check out locations in person and consists of a preliminary day's worth of free-of-charge location research during the budgeting phase of a job.
7 Seas Location services are currently available in Buenos Aires, Bariloche and many other major Argentine cities, as well as in Santiago de Chile, Mexico City and Havana. In preparation are Rio, Sao Paolo, Brasilia, Bogotá, and Cartagena.
Recent work by German photographer Uli Heckmann (CGI Recom, Production 7 Seas) for Porsche and Mercedes, carried out in Mexico City, would not have been possible without 7 Seas' new location services.

7 Seas Productions
7 Seas Productions finished the Argentine summer season with a big catalogue production for German client Schwab Versand and photographer Andreas Baum. Incredible weather conditions turned a late autumn shoot into a moment of pure summer enjoyment - it was the equivalent of shooting in November in the northern hemisphere, (it was of course May in Argentina), with temperatures of 28°C and sunshine for three weeks.
7 Seas moved south to Patagonia and its 'capital', Bariloche, to prepare for upcoming snow shoots. Bariloche is the largest ski resort in South America, with a mix of Swiss-like and Colorado-style countryside within a radius of 40 Km. Helpfully, the local 7 Seas producer is an experienced motorcycle guide.
Other productions completed by 7 Seas' production manager, Facundo de Rosas, included for Costa Rican fashion client Armi Pronto, with photographer Fabien Laghi, Ford Tosquera and Renault Clio, with Mosy Abadia, and Gatorade with basketball player Manu Ginobili (San Antonio Spurs) and football star Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), with photographers Gaby Messina and Mosy Abadia.

Buenos Aires: 7 Seas Productions
7 Seas Productions was founded in 2002 and is composed of a mixed German-Argentine production crew that combines the best of both worlds: a 'made-in-Germany' quality of realisation with expert local knowledge.
"Some things you always wanted to know about Argentina* but were afraid to ask:"
All major European airlines operate daily flights to Argentina and the time difference is only three hours, which makes jetlag insignificant. The Argentine Peso is the lowest valued currency in the region: Swiss bank UBS recently rated 71 world capitals for their price performance, with the cheapest three revealed as Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi and Buenos Aires. Argentina, this year celebrating the 25th anniversary of its return to democracy, looks and feels the most European among South American countries, and makes for one of the most logical off-season destinations for photo and film productions.
The company's website shows more than 15,000 location pictures, plus references to recent campaigns and photographers. -

7 Seas Productions
"What can be said about a country 5000 km long, that has three different climate zones - from permafrost Antarctic to subtropical rain forest - and that has one of the most fascinating capitals of the Western world?"
Buenos Aires combines magical myths from the past with the modernity of a thriving city. Add to that an excellent production infrastructure and professional human resources - from production managers to assistants, H&M artists and models - and Argentina has it all!
7 Seas specialises in high quality photo still productions for everything from fashion to car shoots. Focusing on thorough preparation and customer satisfaction, recent productions have been completed for Kaufhof, C&A, Levi's, Wrangler, Pilsen, Volvo V50, Peugeot 407, Renault, Ford, Gillette, Nissan and Deutsche Bank.

Uruguay: 7 Seas Productions
With Argentina to the south and Brazil to the north, Uruguay has the best of both worlds: European-influenced cities and the flair and sway of beach life - laid-back Brazilian nature perfectly combined with the boldness of the Argentine spirit.
Punta del Este, a beach with two sunsets, is the upcoming spot in South America. Not only has it been discovered by the Argentines, but many Brazilian and European visitors enjoy warm hospitality, great food and diverse landscapes.
Punta del Este is obviously not the Caribbean, but it does hold the same kind of flair as St. Tropez in the 60s or Ibiza in the 70s, as hip locations open up in new places. Everything is still palpable, however, and nothing is out of reach - there are still many charming hotels, great bars, heaps of beautiful beaches and that infectious southern cool.

Cartagena: 7 Seas Productions
Cartagena de Indias is in many ways comparable to Havana: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the same ethnic mix of white Spanish immigrants, black slaves and Indian aborigines, a colonial old city and great beaches. In addition, the modern, vibrant city has a perfect Miami-like skyline, plus many unique and unspoiled locations. Put all this together with a rich Creole cuisine and the magic realism of a García Marquez novel and the perfect production site for fashion, editorial and advertising shoots unfolds.
Cartagena is Colombia's window to the world, meaning that security is a must. People are at ease, salsa rhythms are in the air, and the Caribbean breeze turns the city into one of the most enchanting places in South America.
There are daily flights from Miami which is only 2.5 hours away. Casting agencies are available on site, and all categories of hotels and cosy bed & breakfasts are available at South American prices. On top of that, it remains 30° Celsius all year around.

Patagonia [Argentina] : 7SeasProductions
Patagonia is often portrayed as deserted lanscapes, with dawn or sunset moods. But according to local production company, 7SeasProductions, "Patagonia is not the dark side of the moon: It is a lively place, with people, animals, cities, lakes, mountains and glaciers".
From the production point of view, there is skiing in Bariloche, great backgrounds for fashion shoots, and roads for car shoots with almost no traffic.
