Ambassade de L'Ile London take offline

Ambassade de L'Ile is one of London's newest French restaurants. It serves French food based on traditional styles and values.

Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex is a French chef new to the UK restaurant scene, but he has worked in some of France's finest restaurants. Ambassade de L'Ile is an outpost of Jean Christophe's restaurant in France, L'Auberge de L'Ile. Located on L'Ile Barbe, Lyon, it has held two Michelin stars since 2002.

The London restaurant's cuisine is based on the successful Lyon menu, with as many of the ingredients as possible sourced locally and according to the season. The wine selection includes fine wines from Jean-Christophe's Lyonnaise cellar, along with an extensive range of house wines.

When weather allows, clients can enjoy a shady patio for aperitifs and after lunch coffees.

"Overall, the best new restaurant opening in London for many years." Andy Hayler, June 2008.
