When Matt was a teenager in the small Western Cape town Worcester, his dad gave him his first camera; a Pentax 35mm and he started taking photos of his friends on their missions.   He thought he could make money by sending his shots to magazines to be featured, but his friends ended up wanting to buy the photos of themselves.   He quickly realised – hey you can make money AND have fun!   He moved from Worcester to Stellenbosch to study photography. From there he got an internship at The Pixel Foundry in Cape Town where his obsession for understanding lighting emerged.   his career built up some steam so he went solo and rigged up his own fully equipped studio.
