Yuyang Liu (b. 1991, Sichuan, China) is a Chengdu-based photographer. With a distinctive eye and insight—and the sincerity, patience, and flexibility required by documentary-based practice—he tells stories through images.

He has been nominated for the Prix Pictet (2025) and the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (2021), and served on the Photography Jury of the 98th ADC Annual Awards. 

His work has been published across domestic and international media and exhibited in Shanghai, Paris, New York, London, and Beijing.

He believes that distinctive, meaningful moments can communicate a brand’s spirit, and that authentic moments move audiences. He documents the depth and breadth of subtle social differences and the ordinary people who live within them. For him, what matters most is harnessing the power of visual metaphor and presenting a human-centered, truthful view of the relationship between people and their environments. His commercial clients include adidas, Allianz, Airbnb, Apple, HSBC, Lafite, Jordan, JD.com, Nike, Universal Beijing Resort, among others.
