Canary Islands
Gran Canaria is a synonym of success, and many companies know it. That’s why 2022 has been a turning point.
Since the beginning of the year, big well-known corporations such as Netflix and Amazon Prime have chosen Gran Canaria to shoot their projects. Big stars like Jennifer Lopez and John Krasinski have set foot on the island running or fighting the Cuban mafia or Thailand terrorists.
The work ethic of the local service companies and crews, as well as the multiple possibilities to recreate any landscape in the world, have made these companies come back, like Amazon Prime which is shooting another series.
And now, apart from this wide range of locations, Gran Canaria adds two brand-new studios completing the audiovisual offer. Set to be used in 2023, they have already been tested by an European production company proving that Gran Canaria has everything to make everything possible.

"Gran Canaria and its unique weather offers a wide range of locations perfect for shooting: from the wild west to a colonial Colombian village. From a valley in New Zealand to a cliff coastline in Australia. From a Thai rainforest to a mountain range in the Middle East. From the Sahara Desert to a Moroccan town. From a Greek inspired fisherman village to a modern European city… All these locations can be recreated in just one island, Gran Canaria.
However, Gran Canaria has much more to offer. The island counts with a great set of professionals capable of creating anyone’s dream project with the highest perfection. That’s why important international brands like Loewe, Pepe Jeans London, Bershka, Pull&Bear and Reserved have chosen Gran Canaria for their new campaigns.
Check out the latest campaigns from our production companies: Shoot Canarias, Pop House and Islas Producciones."

Canary Islands
Gran Canaria is not just an island. It’s a place where thousands of places around the world like Miami, Cuba, Afghanistan or the Indonesian rainforest can be recreated. Gran Canaria is any place anyone can imagine.
The past, the present and the future also converge in its streets. In less than a blink, it is possible to go back to the 17th century thanks to its colonial streets and buildings, vibrate with the 80s energy thanks to the hotels and streets of Playa del Inglés or recreate the mysterious future with its modern architecture.
The best part: it is in Europe, just four hours of flying distance from the main European cities. All of this combined with a 23 ºC temperature all year round and a qualified local industry, makes Gran Canaria the perfect place to shoot.

One of Gran Canaria’s greatest virtues is its extraordinary ability to look like a thousand places all at once, offering stunning natural settings. The magnificent climate all year round in addition to the top-level local industry makes it an ideal location to shoot high quality audiovisual projects all year round.
Renowned international brands like Zara and Bershka chose the desertic southbound landscapes in contrast with urban touristic spots in Playa del Ingles, to shoot their campaigns with the local production service Shoot Canarias. Pronovias, opted for the “Viera & Clavijo Botanic Garden” for its photo shooting, a 27 hectares garden, the biggest of its kind, with a wide example of endemic flora, while Reserved chose the red soil terrain with the service of Pop House.
The island's spectacular winding roads have also captured the attention of big car commercials; Porsche and Volkswagen have been serviced by Seven Islands Film.

Gran Canaria has become a great safe filming destination, an oasis in this sanitary crisis with one of the lowest levels of contagion in Europe thanks to the rapid establishment of temporary and exceptional measures for the containment of Covid-19.
Shooting in Gran Canaria is allowed by national and regional government since May 2020, as audiovisual productions are considered economic and professional activities. These productions follow the “good practice guide” from the Film and audiovisual Arts Institute (ICAA).
Nevertheless, due to Covid travel restrictions some of our local production service companies such as Macaronesia Films, Seven Islands Films, Magnetic Films have been the first of Spain to implement remote filming. Images are transmitted live in real-time, with end-to-end encryption to clients, agencies and production teams such as Pantene, DNB, La Once or the Film Commission without attending the shoot - wherever you are, you will feel that you are in Gran Canaria.
