Vishal Kullarwar started out to become an engineer, but a heightened awareness of the visual art diverted his attention to the camera and its versatility. He started off by assisting a renowned photographer in India for over two years, and soon after which he travelled to Paris and Hamburg to acquire more knowledge with respect to the visual medium after which he decided to start off on his own.

Aspiring to carve a niche in the photography industry, he is well versed in fashion, advertising and editorial work. Vishal describes his work as the constant need to move and evolve. These characteristics of the ever-growing fashion world reflects on his photography as well.

Boasting a background in graphic designing, his work has often been considered provocative yet unique. His client and publication credits currently include International and Indian magazines such as Vogue Italia, Adweek, GQ, Cosmopolitan, to name a few. Having worked with advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Toaster, Wunderman Thompson, DDB, McCann Erickson, etc., his current body of work includes brands such as Dove, Lux, Nokia, YouTube, Sony Bravia, Oriflame.

His work has been exhibited in the prestigious D&AD Awards (London), The World Press Photo, the Dubai Media City (IBDA), Lalit Kala Academy and others.

Currently he has been selected as 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide for 2021 / 22 by Luerzer’s Archive.
