Manja Wachsmuth has spent the last 20 years in the professional photography industry, shooting advertising campaigns and editorial content for clients in Europe, US, Australia and running her own business in New Zealand since 2010.
Now living in Auckland with her family, Manja has established herself as a sought-after food and lifestyle photographer with a passion for storytelling.
Manja brings a direct approach and strong sense of purpose to every shoot. Her goal is always to create authentic images that are beautiful in their detail and her determination for turning even the most unattractive into something beautiful and delicious proves her skills in food photography is second to none.
Her most recent work includes the multi awardwinning “Bug Project” created with stylist Fiona Hugues, and two books published this year, one of which for New Zealand awarded chef Monique Fiso.

Having spent the last 20 years in the professional photography industry, shooting editorial and advertising campaigns for clients in Scandinavia, Europe, US, Australia and running her own business in New Zealand, Manja confidently works across the spectrum of photographic challenge.
Manja has established herself as a sought-after food and lifestyle photographer, working with agencies, publishers, lifestyle brands and top chefs.
Her Scandinavian heritage is reflected in her clean and simple style, which is beautifully lit like the long summer nights and sharp winter days of her native Denmark. Manja brings a direct approach and a strong sense of purpose to every shoot.
Her recent personal series, The Bug Project, created with food stylist Fiona Hugues, has earned her a bunch of international awards, as well as open the doors to new and exciting projects.

Manja Wachsmuth comes right out of the Scandinavian photographic tradition. Her work is fresh and beautifully lit like the long summer nights and sharp winter days of her native Denmark. In 2009 Manja left her homeland to discover new inspiration.
The last year-and-a-half she has spent on building-up her business in New Zealand, were her work has already been discovered by some of NZ’s favourite chefs including Annabel Langbein and Peter Gordon.
Manja’s work is regularly published in several popular Kiwi magazines, and she is currently looking forward to seeing some of her work in Annabel Langbein's up-and-coming book.

To take her passion for food photography to a higher level, Manja has now packed her bags and left her homeland to work and live in New Zealand, where famous Kiwi chefs like Annabel Langbein and Peter Gordon have already discovered her work.
