Smarkets is an online betting exchange based in central London.

"We are seeking a senior interactive designer to join our team of 55. We are bringing financial technology to the old fashioned world of betting. Create the next generation of event trading interfaces. You will have a lot of freedom in this job to use your creativity in a self-manged environment where you set your own salary."


• Be the company´s brand champion

• Bring the company´s vision to life with beautiful consumer-friendly design

• Work closely with their web team to refine and improve their UX/UI across multiple devices, web and native. Master their product’s user experience, interaction and visual design

• Work closely with their marketing team and produce innovative creatives that contribute to the brand on owned and social channels

• Create the next generation of betting interfaces for desktop and mobile


• Strong creative problem solving skills

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fine Arts, or Design, or equivalent experience

• Expert skills using Adobe CC and Sketch

• Basic understanding of web technologies and how they work

• Basic knowledge of sports, politics or current affairs


• Ability to implement frontend code, including color schemes, typography, and general design tweaks

• Good skills animating with current web technology

• Interest in probability, event trading and sports betting in general

Compensation Guidance

Salary is subject to experience and qualifications, but you will set it. The range starts at £40k, increasing substantially for the right candidate. Your salary will be corroborated by peer review.

This is a full-time job based at our office on the 7th floor at 1 Commodity Quay, St Katharine Docks, London, E1W 1AZ.
