Romulo Yanes has defined the way we see food from his early days as the staff photographer of the legendary Gourmet Magazine to countless other publications, magazines covers, books and catalogues in which his work has appeared in. His signature style direct and impactful along with his love food and his trade, are ever present in his work. Recently, Romulo and his work was included in Aperture’s FEAST FOR THE EYES, THE STORY OF FOOD IN PHOTOGRAPHY by Susan Bright. Images of his are also currently on exhibition through the Woodward Gallery in NYC, at their storefront window displays at the Gourmet Garage.

His love for food is self evident in every image he captures; his ease and comfort on set is perhaps only surpassed by his professionalism and his ability to get along with everyone he works with.

His talents are not limited to food or still life. He has photographed travel features, interiors and chefs. Romulo is a frequent contributor to Williams Sonoma Cooks Catalogue. His style and compositions are always food forward; even when he is graphic his images are always real and lived in. He is equally comfortable shooting daylight or lighting as he is shooting in a studio or on location.
